CTCPA and LabPlus: optimizing laboratories to improve service quality
CTCPA (Centre Technique de la Conservation des Produits Agricoles) is a French organization specializing in research, development and innovation for the agri-food industry. Its missions include R&D and innovation programs, auditing and consulting services, analysis, testing and training. The organization has several sites in France to carry out its missions throughout the country.
What challenges or issues did CTCPA face prior to this project?
Prior to this project, the CTCPA used an in-house application, developed some twenty years ago, to manage laboratory samples ( codification and reports). However, this application is no longer updated and only covers part of the laboratory's needs.
With the continuing growth of laboratory activities and prospects for external growth, the implementation of a LIMS has proved necessary. This system will replace the in-house application and provide an “all-in-one” solution for managing all operations at two CTCPA sites:
- The Avignon site, with its microbiology, molecular biology and nutritional quality laboratory.
- The Bourg-en-Bresse site, specialized in packaging, has 2 laboratories, one for characterizing the functional properties of packaging, the other for analyzing container-content interactions.
The project specifications include numerous objectives, both operational and strategic. For example, the project must improve operational efficiency, enhance quality and compliance, and optimize collaboration and communication both internally and with the laboratories' customers.
How has LabPlus helped solve these challenges?
The project between CTCPA and LabPlus is currently in the development phase.
What results have been observed since the implementation of LabPlus?
